Recipe of cookies with raisins

31 March 2018

Many of our visitors are very impressed by my raisin cookies (that we in Tuscany call “cantuccini”) during the wine tastings where we usually serve them with the Vin Santo.

In fact, many of you have been writing to us after your visits wanting to get the recipe. Therefore, I decided to post it for you on our blog and make a short video to better show how to make the cookies.

See the recipe below, enjoy!

  • 500 gr (4 cups) of flour
  • 500 gr (4 cups) of sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 package of yeast for cakes
  • 200 g (2 cups) of raisins
  • milk and brown sugar as required

Mix flour, sugar, eggs, yeast, and vanilla extract into a dough. Add the raisins at the end.

Divide the dough in 8 equal parts and roll them into small sausage-like pieces. Put the rolls on two baking trays with enough distance between them.

Paint them with milk and sprinkle with some brown sugar.

Bake them in the oven at 200 °C for 15 minutes.

Cut them when cold.
